CREATING THE FUTURE
Christian Schmidt, preaching

Every day is the first day of the rest of our lives, or so the saying goes. As the First Parish moves into its fourth century of existence, we have the chance once again to create the future of this congregation and this community. What future will we create? The choir sings Dvorák's Goin Home and a rousing African pop number, Seed to Sow, with the children's choir.

(DO YOU HAVE THE WING?)
John Buehrens, preaching

If you don’t know the marriage scene in the film, The Princess Bride, you won’t get the title. We’ll celebrate Valentine’s Day and Freedom to Marry Week than with a funny/serious sermon on the subject. John has been on the national board of Freedom to Marry for nine years. He and his wife Gwen mark their 40th anniversary in June. Our guest artist, troubadour and guitarist Kathy Phipps, will sing for us.

OPEN SOURCE MINISTRY
Christian Schmidt, preaching

Open-source computer code is programming that is given out for all people and companies to use and modify. It’s supposed to encourage wide use, lively input, and a sense of community. Though we forget about it, church is supposed to be the same way. This church’s ministry is bigger than any one person, any one group of people, and any one idea. It takes all of us. Music by the Adult Choir and our very own "community choir". All are invited to join the community choir by coming to the single practice at 9:30 in the Sanctuary.

Children in service for first 15 minutes,
followed by all-grade activities

YOU ARE THIS UNIVERSE
The Rev. Sharon Wylie, Guest Minister

The spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature. We tend to think of these teachings as ancient, but they also intersect with and inform many of our modern ideas. Come consider the many ways we connect with each other and with the Divine. Our music will come from Singing the Journey.
